Luis Henrique da Silva, 36, is a Brazilian MMA fighter known as “Frankenstein”. Pro since way back in 2013, da Silva holds a 20–10 record, with 18 of his 20 wins coming by knockout or TKO. Yes, we’re looking at a 90% knockout rate.

Da Silva tore through regional competition in Brazil. In January of 2016 he defeated a UFC veteran, Ildemar Alcântara, via second-round TKO. That victory put him on the UFC’s radar, and only months later, by June of 2016, he was making his UFC debut at UFC 199, where he also won by TKO.

Luis did not intend to stop there. He went on to coin another UFC win in October of 2016, submitting Joachim Christensen in the second round, which even earned da Silva a “Performance of the Night” bonus in the UFC.

After his UFC ups and downs, and ultimately being released from the UFC in 2017, da Silva continued competing across multiple major promotions like Dana White’s Contender Series (Brazil) and Europe’s top leagues.

In 2019, he fought in the Central European OKTAGON MMA promotion. By 2021, “Frankenstein” took on new challenges in Europe, briefly appearing in Croatia’s FNC promotion.

In August of 2022 in Brazil, he captured a regional light-heavyweight title by winning the Pitbull Fight Championship (PFC) belt via second-round KO. Also in 2022, he signed with Poland’s KSW organization, where he delivered one of the most spectacular knockouts of the year, defeating the Polish MMA legend and former KSW champion Tomasz Narkun with a front kick 28 seconds into the second round. This earned da Silva “Knockout of the Night” at KSW 75, as well as his third straight win at the time.

Fighting da Silva is Hasan Mezhiev, a 33-year-old from Latvia who has yet to taste a morsel of defeat in professional MMA; he holds a 14–0 record. Mezhiev has been training in combat sports virtually his entire life, starting at just 5 years old.

Before turning pro in 2016, he represented Latvia in amateur MMA world championships. In 2014, Mezhiev podiumed with a bronze-medal performance at the world championships, and at the 2015 World Amateur MMA Championships in Prague, Mezhiev reached the finals of the light heavyweight division. He earned a silver medal in the 2015 world championships, falling to the future UFC contender Magomed Ankalaev.

Most impressively, Mezhiev became an ADCC World Champion in 2024, winning the ADCC Amateur World Championship in the +100 kg division. The ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) world championships are regarded as the pinnacle of submission grappling, and Mezhiev clinched gold in the amateur adult category, beating top grapplers from around the world.

Mezhiev has also claimed titles in other competitions. He won a North American Grappling Association (NAGA) European Championship in 2023 and an ACB Jiu-Jitsu European tournament title in his weight class.

He has racked up wins in King of Kings (KOK) and LNK Fight Night. Notably, he won via choke at a KOK World Grand Prix event in Riga, and scored a string of first-round TKOs in the LNK Baltic events from 2017 through 2020.

Hasan Mezhiev vs. Marius Bagdonas – LNK Boxing (MMA Rules)

In 2023, Hasan Mezhiev signed with Japan’s RIZIN Fighting Federation, becoming the first Latvian fighter ever to compete in RIZIN. At RIZINLandmark 7 in November 2023, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Mezhiev won his debut by first-round submission. He defeated Kazakhstan’s Konstantin Merkulov via a head-and-arm choke 2:32 into the fight.

Hasan Mezhiev carries substantial momentum. He has seven submissions and six knockouts on his record. But Luis Henrique da Silva is no easy opponent either. Two championship-caliber fighters from some of the biggest stages in the world are coming to meet at “BAZARA 0 Fight Club III” — and you have to be there to see it!
