Artūrs Leisāns is a well-known figure on the Baltic fight scene. He is a former national-level wrestler who transitioned into MMA and has been active since about 2017, amassing a pro MMA record of 9–9–1. Over the years he has spent time at notable gyms such as BST Academy in Northampton, England, and even at Ireland’s famed SBG Ireland in Dublin, the home of UFC star Conor McGregor.
Leisāns won a Latvian national MMA title, defeating Armands Tīlens at “Milžu Cīņas 9” to claim a vacant Latvian Welterweight Championship.
But his most prominent achievement came in March 2023 at KOK 110 in Vilnius, where Leisāns knocked out Vitoldas Jagelo in the very first round to claim the KOK World Championship belt in MMA.
However, the KOK title reign was short-lived due to controversy. Leisāns accepted an offer to compete in a boxing match under the UTMA organization without KOK’s approval. KOK officials reacted by stripping him of the championship belt, citing a breach of their exclusivity rules. According to Leisāns, KOK’s president Donatas Simanaitis warned him he’d be “disqualified for life” from KOK if he fought elsewhere, despite Leisāns having no signed contract binding him to KOK at the time.
On April 10th of 2023, KOK officially announced Leisāns’ removal from their rankings and stripped him of the KOK world champion title for “violating international rules”.
He is also a capable grappler. In fact, he took silver in the 86 kg division at Latvia’s 2024 Open Grappling Championships. On the pro MMA scene, Leisāns’ recent tenure has been with Cage Warriors. He made his Cage Warriors debut at Cage Warriors 172, in May of 2024, and is currently still signed with the promotion.
Baysangur Makaev began his MMA career in Sweden under the Allstars banner (the same gym as UFC’s Jack Hermansson and Khamzat Chimaev) and now trains at Allstars Spain with former UFC fighter Reza “Mad Dog” Madadi. His pro record is 7–2.
According to the Fight Club Rush promotion site, Makaev “got into MMA following in the footsteps of current UFC title contender Khamzat Chimaev” and has “familial ties to judo and wrestling”. These roots have served him well: after losing his very first pro fight in 2021, he rattled off six consecutive victories.
Makaev’s most notable recent success came in Fight Club Rush (FCR). On May 24, 2025 at FCR 24 in Malmö, Makaev was matched for the vacant FCR Featherweight Championship. Makaev won a clear unanimous decision after three hard rounds. With that victory, Makaev captured his first pro title, officially becoming the FCR Featherweight Champion.
