Hauberts vs. Bemberis Confirmed for “BAZARA 0 Fight Club II”

Hauberts vs. Bemberis Confirmed for “BAZARA 0 Fight Club II”

The lineup for “BAZARA 0 Fight Club II” on May 8th keeps getting stronger.

We’re already looking at a powerhouse main card: the main event will see Ričards Bolotņiks face Germany’s Serge Michel in an 87 kilogram catchweight fight under the promotion’s 4-ounce glove “B0 Fist Bout” rules. In the co-main, “BAZARA 0” founder Danik Vesnenok returns to action against ex-champion Roberts Skujiņš — and also announced is a rematch between Francis Rozentāls and Juris Zundovskis.

Now, adding to the list, a 70 kilogram “B0 Mixed Fight” will pit two rising protégés — Ričards Hauberts and Niks Bemberis — against each other!

Hauberts, 18, is making a comeback after recovering from a broken collarbone. He fought in the “BAZARA 0 Fight Club” debut event in August of 2024, where he went toe-to-toe with Yaroslav Kuzoma and coined a draw.

A student of Vesnenok’s school, Hauberts is regarded as an interesting prospect in Latvian MMA — he has seen six fights and six victories in “Ghetto Fight”, and proudly calls himself the “Ghetto Champion”.

In “Spēka Podkāsts”, Vesnenok revealed he’d taken the young fighter under his wing, noting Hauberts is brimming with potential:

“[…] at this event, I found what I was looking for. That is Ričards Hauberts,” Danik confessed during the podcast. “I plan to represent him for one year. I’ll show and teach him what it means to train professionally, provide the training, everything he’d need — food, equipment. I think he is the most talented MMA athlete in Latvia. I see how he fights. He is a boy from Latvia who can make it to the UFC. But he needs someone like me.”

Now healthy and back in the circuit, Ričards looks to prove himself once more. With his mentor Danik fighting on the same card, Hauberts should be extra motivated to put forth a well-rounded game. And don’t be fooled by his age; Hauberts already carries himself like a fighter with a 13–2 amateur MMA record and a 20–1 amateur boxing record — and will aim to hold his ground just as he did in the “BAZARA 0 Fight Club” debut.

Bemberis, 20, comes in as reportedly the favorite student of Roberts Skujiņš, making this fight night an interesting clash of mentors and protégés. Training out of Skujiņš’ “Top Ring” in Riga, Bemberis captains the gym’s amateur MMA team. He sports an amateur MMA record of 4–2–0, having won his debut fight last year. That victory came at “Milžu Cīņas 10” in Tukums. Bemberis has also, most notably, shown and tested himself under the KSPROFL promotion.

With their mentors slated to clash that same night, the stakes are doubled for Hauberts and Bemberis. Each will want to score an emphatic win to impress and perhaps even one-up their teacher.

It’s prospect vs. prospect, but also Vesnenoks’ camp vs. Skujiņš’ camp. May 8th will show the future of Latvian combat sports — and you don’t want to miss it.
