The anticipated clash between Latvian boxer Francis Rozentāls and Lithuanian fighter Dominykas Dirkstys has taken a new turn. The tension started when Rozentāls publicly challenged Dirkstys at BAZARA 0 Fight Club, claiming that the Lithuanian “doesn’t fight real fighters”. Naturally, this comment didn’t sit well with Dirkstys, and from there, their beef only escalated. The feud has been heating up on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where both Rozentāls and Dirkstys have been trading virtual jabs and testing each other’s limits.
A notable number of Lithuanians are siding with Rozentāls, despite being Dirkstys’ countrymen, largely due to Dirkstys’ infamous and often polarizing social media presence. His brash attitude has alienated some fans, but it’s also what keeps people talking about him. Meanwhile, the fight itself has been on hold, with Rozentāls nursing an elbow injury and balking at Dirkstys’ specific terms, which he considers unnecessary—Francis claims Dominykas is “a chicken” and jabbed at him by calling him “Conor McGregor from AliExpress”.
Dirkstys, known for his outspoken personality, didn’t hesitate to make his terms public. In a video he posted on his private Instagram, Dirkstys addressed Rozentāls directly:
“You wanna fight with me? I don’t care about you. I don’t give a f**k about you. I see people want this fight, I wanna give them this fight. So I’m thinking—this boxer came to a Muay Thai fighter and wanted a fight. […] So the best choice is, first round, we go Muay Thai, second boxing, then Muay Thai and boxing again. Two rounds of my rules, two rounds of your rules.”
Dirkstys made it clear he’s not interested in compromising. “I’m not a boxer. I’m not gonna change my training for some random Latvian boy,” he added.
These strict terms have become a major sticking point for Rozentāls, who sees the alternating rules format as ridiculous and heavily favoring Dirkstys’ Muay Thai background.
“I haven’t taken sports seriously for two years and he’s still afraid to fight me,” Rozentāls said during a Lucky Punch stream. “I haven’t been active. He’s still out there tweaking, coming up with some new rules. First round Muay Thai, second round boxing, third round basketball, fourth is gonna be cricket, and for the fifth, we’re going to breakdance.”
While both fighters have a lot to prove, the question remains whether this format will ever be agreed upon. But while the physical fight is postponed, the two rivals have found a new arena to settle their differences: the casino.
