The virtual fight between Latvian boxer Francis Rozentāls and Lithuanian fighter Dominykas Dirkstys at iWild Casino is over. At the end of their 60-minute clash on stream, which got so feisty it resulted in a ban from YouTube and had to be moved to Kick, Dirkstys was ruled to be the winner and claimed the €1,000 prize. But what did the audience think?
Right off the bat, Dirkstys wasn’t afraid to show he wasn’t streaming alone. This was met with hesitation both from the chat and Francis himself, who was alone in the studio.
To this, Dirkstys told us: “We can find Francis some friends. I have my team, we’re together hustling, I don’t have a problem with that. I’m not a bad person. I wanna see that kid happy, so we can find some friends for him.”
With no sidekicks or hype men and stiffer English skills, the Latvian boxer was left to fend for himself, so Francis went the easy route: knighting Dirkstys as “Leprechaun” and one of his most prominent friends as “Egghead”. Unfortunately or not, these nicknames have now stuck amongst the Latvian viewers.
In a private interview with SlotsFighter, Francis let us in on his thoughts. “He played like a pussy. You can tell he’s broke. I won €300 by playing with a strat, it just didn’t work out. He couldn’t even play slots on his own. How is he gonna fight? Dirkstys messages me all the time. I don’t understand why he does that. He texts me that he’s at training, but he has his phone in his hand the whole time. Dude just uses the gym to tap his phone.”
“Francis’ fans want to find reasons for me to lose,” Dirkstys commented. “There were no rules. I just played smart.”
Dominykas is right: the only rules both fighters had were clear and simple. They had 60 minutes, €1,000 and a free selection of games. Bonus Buy purchases weren’t off the table. While stalling may be seen as a strategy to come out on top, this battle wasn’t based on the final number shown in their accounts (therefore, not including the starting funds of €1,000), but the actual wins claimed in the end.
Both fighters have agreed to a Casino Battle rematch—even if it took place under stricter rules. In fact, both are fond of having rules imposed, to see which one luck truly favors. So while Rozentāls nurses his injury to health and resumes training, we may see another virtual fight in the future!
Stay tuned for the rematch announcement; this time, with some ground rules, and with a chance for the audience to join in…
