The last day of the NBA regular season!
We are just 1 day away from the end of the NBA regular season. Today, each team will step on the court, and only the 20 best will continue in the postseason.
Let’s look at the current situation before the last day of the regular season!
Bucks
1.61

2.15
Pistons
Eastern Conference
Everything is set in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are the 1st seed, and the Celtics are the 2nd. The Knicks are the 3rd best team and will play against the Pistons, while the 4th and 5th seed matchup will be between the Pacers and Bucks. It’s the same matchup as last year when Indiana won 4:2. Milwaukee didn’t have Giannis last year, but now the big question mark is Damian Lillard’s availability.
In the play-in tournament, the winner of the matchup between the Magic (7th) and Hawks (8th) will play against the Celtics in the 1st round, while the loser of Magic/Hawks will play against the winner of the Bulls (9th) and Heat (10th). The winner of the last play-in game will face the Cavaliers.
Warriors
1.61

2.15
Clippers
Western Conference
Wild, wild West. Only 3 things are sure: the Thunder, Rockets and Lakers have secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd seed in the standings, but everything else is a big mess. The Nuggets and Clippers are in the 4th and 5th seed with the same record (49-32), the Warriors and Timberwolves are tied for the 6th and 7th place (48-33), the Grizzlies are the 8th seed (47-34), while the Kings and Mavericks are tied for the 9th and 10th place (39-42). As we see from the records, a lot can change today. Sacramento and Dallas will face off in the play-in game, but the question is where the game will happen.
Will Celtics and Porzingis win back-to-back titles?
Last season was historic for Latvia as Kristaps Porziņģis became the first-ever Latvian to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy. The Celtics haven’t shown signs of a major championship hangover – they’re locked in as the 2nd seed – but their performance hasn’t been as dominant as last year. As for Porziņģis, he had a delayed start to the season due to an injury sustained during the Finals. That hasn’t stopped Porzingis, who’s averaging 19.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks this season – very similar numbers to the previous season.
In the East, the Cavaliers have claimed the top spot. There’s no doubt Donovan Mitchell will step up in the playoffs, but the big question is: can Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley function effectively together when it really counts?
Now let’s talk about the best team this season – the Oklahoma City Thunder. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to elevate his game (and his foul-drawing skills), and he’s one of the frontrunners for MVP. But it’s not just Shai – the Thunder boast a deep and balanced roster including Isaiah Hartenstein, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Lu Dort, Alex Caruso, and more. Structurally, they resemble the Celtics but with even greater depth and significantly younger core players.
Let’s check in on our neighbors too – some Lithuanians are also competing in the prediction game. One of the biggest surprises this season was the mid-season trade that sent Jonas Valančiūnas to the Kings, where he joined fellow Lithuanian Domantas Sabonis. It was a strange move by Sacramento, especially since the two have never played great together on the national team. Now, Jonas comes off the bench and performs well when given minutes, while Sabonis continues to do what he always does – everything.
There’s also a new Lithuanian face in the league: Matas Buzelis. The versatile forward can do a bit of everything and even made an appearance in the dunk contest.
And now for the biggest surprise of the season – yes, it happened nearly two months ago, but we still can’t believe it: Luka Dončić was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers. GM Nico Harrison decided to shake things up, sending away their franchise star in exchange for Anthony Davis, and not even getting back draft picks like it was in Rudy Gobert and Mikal Bridges’ trades. Everyone in Dallas is furious, and soon after, the Mavs were hit with a brutal wave of injuries. Karma?
Dallas is still clinging to a play-in spot, with the Suns right behind them. The so-called “Big 3” of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker has been a massive disappointment. The same can be said about the 76ers, despite having Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey. Who would’ve thought that at this point in the season, we’d be watching a Quentin Grimes offensive masterclass, not the Big 3?
And finally, one last question – what is Nikola Jokić eating? Whatever it is, we want the same! The horse-loving Serbian is averaging a triple-double and is well on his way to a fourth MVP. Everything he does looks effortless. Honestly, I feel like I could average 10 points a game if I played next to Jokić.
Every basketball fan from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia should be very excited, and X3000 NBA bracket will only bring an extra fire. Nothing has changed from the previous years, as X3000 NBA 2025 participants will give their thoughts about all 15 playoff series, as well as the NBA champion, Finals MVP and 7 regular season award recipients. X3000 NBA bracket will start earlier because of the play-in tournament.
